Whether you’re sweating it out in an exercise class, boarding a long-haul flight or lounging at home, a good pair of joggers will strike that hard-to-find balance of comfort and style. We tapped fashion stylists, fitness trainers and frequent fliers to find out which pairs they recommend for working out, traveling and more. Read on for their favorite styles, from cozy cashmere picks made for movie nights on the couch to sleek leather joggers to wear out on the town. Best of all, every one of these joggers has pockets for on-the-go convenience.

$94 at Vuori

$94 at Rei

These Vuori joggers are Denver, Colo.-based personal stylist Anne Liebman’s “go-to’s for a comfortable lounge outfit.” She explains that the fitted, cropped style “adds a nice polish to your overall athleisure look” and the “soft, smooth DreamKnit stretch fabric feels amazing.” Made from a blend of recycled polyester and elastane, the pants feature a mid-rise fit, an elastic waistband with a drawcord and two hip pockets; plus they can be machine-washed and -dried. New York City- and Los Angeles-based personal stylist Cassandra Sethi is also a fan of the joggers’ versatility, adding that she recommends wearing them “as you work from home, [on] the weekend and everything in between.” Sethi appreciates that they’re available in a wide range of sizes, from XXS to XXL, and 15 colors, including classic heathered black and light gray camo print.

$98 at Athleta

This Athleta pair “looks both sporty and elegant,” says Tuscon, Ariz.-based Ashley Nowe, who runs the online prenatal and postpartum fitness platform, Get Mom Strong. Nowe especially appreciates that these joggers, which are made from a blend of nylon and spandex, “allow your belly the freedom to breathe, which is so important for core and pelvic floor health.” In addition to two front slip pockets, these joggers feature two back zip pockets for keeping valuables like cards and keys secure while you’re walking or exercising. They also come in petite tall lengths, as well as sizes from XXS to 3X.

$135 at NAADAM

These ultra cozy cashmere joggers are what Denver-based travel advisor Pamela Garza reaches for when she travels, calling them a favorite for both short and long flights. She suggests joggers shouldn’t be an afterthought: “This is a piece of clothing that you would want to invest in and take proper care of so it lasts you many years,” she says, noting Naadam’s quality. Cashmere is also an ideal material for wearing in chilly airplane cabins, since it regulates temperature (a plus if you’re heading to a different climate). Conveniently, they’re machine-washable and the brand recommends laying them flat to dry. Garza wears them with an oversized sweater for the ultimate cozy in-flight uniform. Shop the drawstring-waist pair in 15 colors and sizes XXS to 3X.

$35 at Amazon

Nowe’s favorite lower-price joggers are this buttery soft pair that she often wears while working out; with a slim fit, they fall somewhere between a jogger and a legging. “These are excellent for a gym session,” she says, since the nylon and spandex blend offers much-appreciated stretch and that “cool and soft” on her skin. She also likes that they come in a variety of bright and neutral colors, including Black, Steel Blue and Mauve Pink. And flat-lay pockets won’t add bulk to your look, but provide a place to store small essentials on the go.

$148 at Cuyana

New York City-based Peloton yoga, Pilates, and meditation instructor Aditi Shah touts the Terry-Sculpted Jogger from Cuyana as “the best for lounging.” With a classic tapered shape, the pants are designed to sit just below the waist for a relaxed fit. Pair them with a matching sweatshirt (both pieces come in Black, Steel and Pearl) for a minimalist, monochromatic look that will take you from the couch to the yoga studio, or even the airport, in style. To keep them in their best condition, Cuyana recommends machine-washing and laying them flat to dry.

$155 at Aday

When Shah travels, she prefers to wear these chic joggers from Aday, which she says “are easy to dress up,” thanks to their gunmetal zippers on the pockets and sleek, pill- and wrinkle-resistant fabric that drapes well. She adds that they hold up well on long travel days and several years of wear: “They are so comfortable, hold their shape and barely wrinkle, even after a flight to India.” A versatile addition to your travel wardrobe, you can pair the pants with a casual T-shirt, tailored button-down or statement top on the plane and at your destination. The brand recommends machine-washing and line-drying the pair.

$80 at Abercrombie & Fitch

“As a sweaty Pilates instructor, it’s hard for me to just wear the leggings I had on during class and go straight out into the real world,” says Monice Small, founder of GoodForm Studios in New York City’s Rockaway Beach, N.Y. Her solution: these lightweight, breathable joggers from Abercrombie. The breezy pants are made from a blend of polyester and nylon that offers a stylish drapey look, and feature two side slip pockets. “They’re the perfect post-Pilates, head-to-brunch-right-after jogger,” Small says of the pants, which can be machine-washed and -dried.

$90 at Athleta

Summer calls for easy, breezy fabrics, and this 100% linen pair is made to keep you cool, making it a great pick for travels to warm-weather locales. Athleta’s Retreat Joggers have a relaxed fit for comfort, as well as two roomy front zip pockets that can fit most smartphones. They’re available in sizes 0 to 26 and come in four summery colors, including classic white and a beautiful berry pink; per the brand’s instructions, you’ll want to machine wash these pants inside out.

$118 at Alo Yoga

A slouchy, oversized fit offers total comfort, and this Alo Yoga pair fits the bill. The relaxed silhouette with an elastic waist says cool, calm, and collected in the best way, while the 10 color choices provide the opportunity for a classic look or a pop of color. And they’re a convenient addition to your lounge wardrobe since they can be machine-washed and -dried. According to Atlanta-based stylist Hannah Johnson, the super-soft French terry material makes them great for post-workout errands or lounging at home, but you could also easily “dress them up for an influencer-cool look with a long trench and big sunglasses.”

$100 at Quince

“Cashmere joggers are one of my luxe essentials,” Johnson says. “I love lounging in mine after a long day on set or wearing them on a lazy Sunday.” Her favorite cashmere pair is this pick from Quince, which can be hand-washed or dry cleaned. Made from 100% Mongolian cashmere, the ultra-soft pants will keep you warm without sacrificing on softness. Plus, they come in six colors, including Navy, Oatmeal and Burgundy, offering the perfect opportunity to match with your favorite cashmere sweater.

$128 at Free People

Los Angeles-based fitness trainer and model Tori Dietz likes the unique, slightly edgy look of these Free People pants, noting that they’re comfortable enough for casual lounging, but given their eye-catching textured look, they “can also be dressed up with a heel, tank and blazer.” She also appreciates the customizable fit: “I especially love the drawstring waist and elastic cuffs so you can slightly change up the fit and shape of them when you want.” Made from lightweight, water-resistant nylon, they’re also a great pick for hiking or camping, and they can be machine-washed.

$55 at Banana Republic Factory

$70 Save $15

Joggers aren’t just meant for downtime. Case in point: this silky cargo pair from Banana Republic, a favorite of two of our experts. Liebman likes that the pants, made from 100% Tencel lyocell, instantly give you a “cool, effortless pulled-together look.” Wear these joggers with a basic tee and sneakers for an everyday outfit, or pair them with a blazer and sandals or heels for “a chic yet comfortable look for that important business meeting and/or that fun night out on the town,” says Liebman. Richards notes the machine-washable joggers’ “more formal appeal” without compromising on comfort.

$1,275 at Revolve

$1,275 at Shopbop

“Leather joggers are my fall and winter go-to for when I want to look cool but feel comfy,” says Johnson. Although plenty of faux leather options exist, she believes the real thing is worth the splurge because they’ll last in your wardrobe. The relaxed fit of these leather joggers means they have a slightly more formal look than your average leather leggings, and can be worn day or night, for work or for going out. Johnson loves pairing them with heels or combat boots and an oversized sweater. Note that the brand recommends professional cleaning.

$158 at Commando

$158 at Saks Fifth Avenue

For errands and travel, Johnson’s pick is this pair from Commando, a brand best known for its undergarments. The slim-fit, machine-washable pants are made from the brand’s ultra-soft Butter fabric, a pill-resistant modal that feels as smooth and comfortable for underwear as it does for joggers. Johnson notes that the “thick waistband and high rise make for a chic fit while maximizing comfort.” She suggests throwing on an oversized white button-down or a fitted ribbed tank over the pants, along with your favorite sneakers for a “put together, on-the-go look.”
