It seems like just a few years ago - because it was - that teams wouldn’t open their season until after Labor Day.

But this weekend, before the holiday, there will be a full launch of the 2023 football season with the majority of the teams opening play - and the rest coming next week - starting with Mainland vs. Washington Township at the Battle at Beach in Ocean City.
